There are approximately 4.6 kilometres of trails that weave through the environmentally significant area marked with yellow blazes on the trees. The Meadowlily site contains a unique mix of wetland and upland forest species. There is also a significant presence of migratory and breeding birds, animals, reptiles and amphibians.
On my first visit to this trail system, I wasn’t sure what to expect but once I made my way through I realized what a nice area it was. The trails were very well marked and maintained. It was also surprisingly quiet considering its proximity to two of the busiest roads in the city.
I thoroughly enjoyed my hike through this trail system and snapped several photos during my journey. Below are the images that I captured from my afternoon spent in Meadowlily Woods.
