Niagara Falls is a popular tourist destination with millions of visitors each year. During the winter months that number is significantly less than in the summertime.
However, there is an event which draws in visitors to view the falls, even when the temperatures outside are barely tolerable. If an ice storm develops, it transforms the landscape around the falls into a frozen wonderland.
Luckily, in January of this year, those conditions came together and people from all over were flocking to the falls. Ice coated almost every surface and large buildups of ice choked the Niagara river creating a winter paradise.
