Today a record amount of rainfall occurred in London, Ontario. A total 56.6 mm fell during the course of Saturday, which broke two rainfall records for the region.
Several flood warnings were in effect and citizens were prompted to stay away from the riverbanks. The fast moving water is considered very dangerous and it only takes a second for something bad to occur.
A pair of kayakers unfortunately had to be rescued from the river by emergency responders. The pair had overturned their kayaks but were successfully rescued in time. They were both transported to London hospital by EMS workers.
Below are photographs that I captured of the flooding at Harris Park, Greenway Park and Gibbons Park.
