On a lovely summer afternoon I decided to go for a hike in The Coves Environmentally Significant Area. This was the first opportunity I had to see the progress that has been made since they began re-naturalizing the green spaces that make up the boundaries of the area.
As I entered the trail off of Springbank Drive I was overwhelmed by the amount of green all around me. From the moment I stepped onto the pathway I was surrounded by the beauty of the long grasses, leaves on the trees and wild flowers.
The afternoon sun was piercing through the sea of green which created a gorgeous backdrop for some photos. I got out my camera and took a few shots as I explored along the trail. I could hear birds chirping and even a woodpecker or two off in the distance.
Below are the pictures I captured from that day and I look forward to returning to the area again soon.
